Joe is a focus puller with more than a decade in the industry, working across commercials, narrative and music promos.
What drives him is the problem-solving at the heart of the role — the technical puzzles that sit between a cinematographer’s vision and the final image, and the satisfaction of quietly making them disappear. He loves the point where camera technology and creativity meet, and sees focus pulling as exactly that: deep technical knowledge in service of beautiful imagery.
For Joe, the best work comes from the best days on set. He believes a camera department runs on teamwork — supporting the DP, looking after the people around him, and keeping the energy up whatever the day throws at it. He’s equally at home on 35mm and 16mm film as he is on digital.
He carries a full kit including Arri Hi-5, CineRT, CINE7 Focus Monitor, 702 Director’s Monitor and Cine24 Client Monitor.
