My focus as a sound mixer is recording performance. When you know you are capturing that lightning in a bottle, it’s an amazing feeling. I have been fortunate to record remarkable performances, including Joanna Scanlan’s BAFTA-winning work in ‘After Love’, and Juliette Binoche in ‘Queen at Sea’.
I love what I do and feel very lucky to do it. If you had told the child who was transfixed by the opening shot of ‘A New Hope’ on a borrowed VHS, that one day I would be running 120 channels of alien creature communications for Star Wars in the Jordanian desert… I definitely wouldn’t have believed you!
