Invested in the system three years ago and know it inside out, technically and creatively. Fewer bodies on set, faster

Inspiration:
Outside commercials, I love Robbie Ryan. He chases the moment rather than protecting the frame. He has this lack of preciousness that keeps everything feeling authentic and alive. I love this approach to storytelling. Also Ben Davis – especially his work on The Banshees of Inisherin. Beautiful use of natural light, and simple single-source moments in the cabin. He has a confidence of restraint, there’s nothing more in the frame than needs to be there.
My three favourite commercials DPs…I regularly take something from each during my own creative process.
Pat Golan – the images he creates are just beautiful, especially the way he shoots people. I’m always fascinated by how we can hero people, skin tones, and bring them to life in ways traditional video doesn’t do.
Ben Cotgrove – the way he moves the camera, and his eye for unusual composition. Playful, but always considered.
A constant reference point. He has fun with his work, and this is what I love.
Olan Collardy – for his use of light, tone and texture. I remember shooting plenty of test films 10 years ago with Olan.
The way this man is obsessed with light is very inspiring to see. Another big inspiration.
Career High: Royal Enfield Classic 350. A campaign I both shot and directed, taking it from treatment through to grade myself. The first time the whole thing – concept, look, execution was mine to carry, and the pressure that came with it.
