Matt has been working in the UK and internationally as a 1st Assistant Camera / Focus Puller since 2012. Matt likes to vary work between long and short form projects; not only does he find the variety enjoyable but the changes in different working styles, crew numbers, kit dependance and budget levels offers a wider array of perspectives and experiences that keep him bettering himself along side his role. Continuing development allows Matt to better support my DOPs and Operators and in turn helps to better engage and share knowledge with those who support him.
Matt prides himself in being a career assistant; approaching all jobs with affability, an underlying fascination for the technical and a proclivity to help support great aesthetics. His favourite jobs involve a good deal of logical thinking as well as being able to quietly offer creative thoughts – where appropriate.
In 2019 Matt achieved a long term goal by being accepted into the Guild of British Camera Technicians (GBCT) and in 2022 joined the Friends of the The Association of Camera Operators (ACO).
